Who can take part
- You must be scheduled for an elective EBUS-TBNA procedure (a bronchoscopy with ultrasound-guided biopsy)
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must be in generally good health (ASA physical status I–III, meaning you have no serious medical conditions or only mild ones)
- You must have oxygen levels ≥90% on room air before the procedure, without using supplemental oxygen at home
- You cannot have severe lung disease, including COPD stage 3–4, very low lung function (FEV1 <40% or FVC <50%), or advanced pulmonary hypertension
- You cannot have had prior chest surgery, tracheostomy, or neck surgery that changed your anatomy
