Who can take part
- You must be 18 years old or older
- You have acute kidney injury (sudden kidney failure) and need continuous kidney replacement therapy (a machine to filter your blood) within 7 days of ICU admission
- You can receive and tolerate tube feeding that provides at least 70% of your daily calorie needs within 7 days of ICU admission
- You or your healthcare surrogate can give informed consent to participate
- You do not have a terminal condition or have chosen to withhold treatment
