Who can take part
- Age 18 or older
- For OLP group: confirmed diagnosis of oral lichen planus by clinical exam and tissue biopsy
- For control group: no signs or symptoms of oral lichen planus
- No current smoking or history of smoking
- No diabetes, obesity, or metabolic syndrome
- Not pregnant; not taking immunosuppressive medications (drugs that weaken immunity)
