  • Age 18 or older
  • For OLP group: confirmed diagnosis of oral lichen planus by clinical exam and tissue biopsy
  • For control group: no signs or symptoms of oral lichen planus
  • No current smoking or history of smoking
  • No diabetes, obesity, or metabolic syndrome
  • Not pregnant; not taking immunosuppressive medications (drugs that weaken immunity)
