STL303 Safety and Efficacy for IgA Kidney Disease
Part of Immune system & allergy, Kidney & urinary clinical trials.
This trial tests a new drug called STL303 for patients with IgA nephropathy, a type of kidney disease where IgA (an antibody) builds up and damages kidneys. The study aims to see if STL303 is safe and can help slow kidney damage in people whose current blood pressure medications alone aren't controlling their protein loss.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with primary IgA nephropathy (confirmed by a kidney biopsy)
- Your kidney function (eGFR) is at least 30 mL/min/1.73 m², and you have significant protein in your urine (at least 0.75 g/g)
- You have been on a maximum-dose blood pressure medication (ACE inhibitor or ARB) for at least 90 days before starting
- You are fully vaccinated against meningococcal and pneumococcal bacteria
- You do not have uncontrolled blood pressure (below 150/90) and no signs of immunodeficiency or recent infections
- You have not taken immunosuppressive drugs, oral budesonide, or complement inhibitors in the required washout periods
