Ankle, Hip, or Combined Exercises for Chronic Ankle Instability

This study compares three different exercise programs to strengthen your ankle and improve stability. If you have a history of ankle sprains with ongoing instability problems, this trial tests which type of strengthening works best to prevent future injuries and improve your ability to do sports.

Who can take part

  • At least one significant ankle sprain that happened 12+ months ago and made you stop activities
  • At least 2 episodes of your ankle feeling unstable in the past 6 months
  • Age 18–35 years old
  • Not had recent ankle injuries (within the last 3 months)
  • No previous surgery or major fractures in your legs
  • No neuromuscular diseases (conditions affecting nerves or muscles)

This study tests if adding a special computer-based brain training activity to regular ankle function tests can help teenage and young adult athletes who have ongoing ankle problems.
