Who can take part
- You are currently on life support in an intensive care unit (ICU) with a breathing tube placed through your mouth
- Your breathing tube is a standard size (7.0 or larger)
- You do not have a history of head or neck cancer
- You have not had previous head or neck surgery (except tonsil or adenoid removal)
- You do not have a neuromuscular disorder or previous stroke
- You are 18 years of age or older
