Who can take part
- Be 18–75 years old
- Have biopsy-proven lupus nephritis (kidney inflammation from lupus) of certain types
- Have moderate protein in urine (0.5–5.0 g/g) measured from morning urine
- Have kidney function that is not too severely damaged (eGFR ≥45)
- Be willing to take mycophenolic acid (an immunosuppressant) and corticosteroids (like prednisone)
