Who can take part

  • You had your first stroke between 1 week and 6 months ago
  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your leg strength on the affected side is weak (3/5 or less on a standard strength test)
  • Your thinking and memory are mostly intact (cognitive assessment score of 21 or higher)
  • You do not have severe muscle stiffness in your leg
  • You have no other neurological conditions, previous strokes, or contraindications for brain stimulation (like a pacemaker or deep brain stimulator)
