Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a kidney stone blocking your ureter (the tube from kidney to bladder) in a single working kidney
  • Imaging (ultrasound and CT scan) confirms the stone blockage
  • Your kidney function is severely reduced with very high creatinine levels (over 2 mg/dL) and little to no urine output
  • You can sign an informed consent form and understand the study
  • You do not have a urinary tract infection, sepsis, or pregnancy
