This study compares two injectable medications (bofanglutide and semaglutide) to help adults with excess weight lose weight and improve related health conditions. You'll be randomly assigned to receive one of these medications over several months.

Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and live in Latin America
- You have obesity (BMI ≥30) OR overweight (BMI 27–30) with at least one weight-related condition like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, liver disease, joint problems, or sleep apnea
- Your weight has been stable (less than 5% change) for at least 12 weeks before starting, with diet and exercise only—no weight-loss drugs
- You have never had diabetes (except gestational diabetes during pregnancy) and have no personal or family history of thyroid cancer
- You are willing to use effective contraception for at least 8 weeks after the last injection, and you have not used GLP-1 drugs or other weight-loss medications in the past 3 months
- You do not have severe mental health conditions, active infections, or certain organ/heart/liver/kidney diseases that might make the study unsafe
