Who can take part
- You have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes that you treat with pills and/or insulin
- You have a diabetic foot ulcer that has been present for 4 weeks to 12 months
- Your ulcer is between 1 and 25 square centimeters in size (about the size of a postage stamp to a large postage stamp)
- Your ulcer shows less than 25% improvement after 2 weeks of standard care
- You have adequate blood flow to your foot (confirmed by a circulation test)
- You can wear an offloading device (a special shoe or boot) to keep pressure off your ulcer throughout the study
