Nanoparticle Treatment for Moderate to Advanced Gum Disease

Who can take part

  • You have stage II or stage III periodontitis (moderate to advanced gum disease with bone loss)
  • You are 25 years old or older
  • You are not pregnant, nursing, or postmenopausal
  • You do not have diabetes, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, AIDS, or chronic alcoholism
  • You do not smoke more than 10 cigarettes per day, or have not smoked regularly for at least 5 years
  • You are not currently taking medications that affect bone metabolism, such as corticosteroids, bisphosphonates, anticoagulants, or drugs for arthritis or epilepsy
