This study tries to use a stem cell transplant from your original kidney donor to help your body accept the kidney without needing lifelong anti-rejection drugs. You must have a perfectly matched sibling donor who is still available.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You received a kidney transplant from a sibling who is a perfect HLA match (like a tissue-type twin).
  • Your sibling donor is still alive and able to donate stem cells.
  • Your kidney has never been rejected (no acute or chronic rejection).
  • You do not have HIV, Hepatitis B, or Hepatitis C.
  • You have not had cancer (except minor skin cancers).
