Who can take part
- You recently developed severe altitude sickness symptoms (brain or lung swelling) after rapidly climbing above 8,200 feet within 3 days
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You do not have serious heart or lung disease before joining the study
- You are not pregnant and can participate in follow-up visits for at least 6 months
- You do not have cancer, severe liver or kidney disease, or require immune-suppressing medications
