Blood-filter treatment for chronic high-altitude sickness

Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You live at high altitude (at least 2,500 meters) continuously for at least 1 year, with no recent travel to low altitude in the last 3 months
  • Your blood test shows high hemoglobin (men ≥210 g/L, women ≥190 g/L) and you have mountain sickness symptoms or signs
  • Your chronic mountain sickness symptom score is high enough (total score ≥6)
  • You can sign consent (or a legal representative can)
  • You have not had similar high-altitude blood treatments or specific medicines in the last 6 months
