Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have secondary hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid gland caused by kidney disease) with high PTH levels in your blood
- You have been on hemodialysis (kidney machine treatment) for at least 3 months
- You are currently taking calcitriol (a vitamin D medication) and can pause it for 40 hours before starting the trial
- Your baseline calcium and phosphate levels are within safe ranges (calcium ≤10 mg/dL, phosphate ≤5.5 mg/dL)
- You do not have primary hyperparathyroidism, active cancer, liver disease, or allergy to vitamin D medications
