Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have wear-and-tear (degenerative) problems in your lower spine causing symptoms like pain, stenosis (narrowing), or slipping bones that need surgery
  • You are having or have had lower spine surgery that includes decompression (relieving pressure on nerves) and fusion (joining bones with metal hardware)
  • You have or will have CT imaging during surgery and before-surgery imaging available for comparison
  • This is your first surgery at the specific spine level being treated (prior surgery at other spine levels is okay)
  • You are in stable general health and able to follow up for clinical checks after surgery
