Neck Exercises for Shoulder Impingement Pain

This study tests whether specific neck-strengthening exercises can reduce shoulder pain caused by subacromial impingement syndrome (a condition where shoulder tissues get pinched). You'll do these exercises over several weeks to see if they help your pain and movement.

Who can take part

  • You have pain on the front and outer side of one shoulder that has lasted at least 3 months
  • You are between 20 and 40 years old
  • Your shoulder pain meets at least 3 of these signs: pain with specific shoulder tests (Neer, Hawkins, or Empty Can), a painful arc when lifting your arm, or pain when resisting shoulder rotation
  • You have not had shoulder surgery, serious shoulder injury, or shoulder arthritis
  • You do not have nerve pain running down your neck or arm
  • You do not have heart disease, lung disease, or neurological conditions
