Surgery for shoulder pain after non-surgical treatment fails

Who can take part

  • Your doctor has diagnosed shoulder impingement (SIS) using a specific exam with multiple positive shoulder tests
  • You have a positive result from a “subacromial injection test” (numbing injection helped your pain)
  • Your shoulder pain started gradually (insidious onset) and has lasted at least 6 months
  • You have done at least 3 months of supervised shoulder exercises and had no meaningful improvement for at least 3 months
  • Your orthopedic shoulder specialist believes you are a good candidate for surgery and you can attend rehab and follow-up appointments
