Who can take part

  • Newly diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome or acute myeloid leukemia (blood and bone marrow cancer) with at least 10% cancer cells
  • Have a confirmed TP53 genetic mutation (a specific type of gene change) in your cancer cells
  • Be ineligible for intensive chemotherapy—either 60+ years old, or younger with significant heart, kidney, or lung problems
  • Have adequate liver function (not severely damaged by the cancer or other causes)
  • Agree to use effective birth control if you can become pregnant or father children, during and after treatment
  • Not currently receiving other cancer treatments or investigational drugs
