  • You need planned (not emergency) spine surgery on your vertebrae
  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • Your general health is good to moderate (ASA score I–III, meaning you don't have serious ongoing medical conditions)
  • Your BMI is below 30 kg/m² (a measure of height-to-weight ratio)
  • You have no history of brain surgery, brain tumor, or brain aneurysm
  • You do not have moderate or severe lung disease
