Who can take part
- Age 40 to 75 years.
- Doctor-confirmed knee osteoarthritis that still hurts after at least four weeks of other treatments like physical therapy or pain relievers.
- Walking pain in the target knee must be moderate (40 to 80 on a 0-100 pain scale) at the start.
- Knee x-ray shows mild to moderate joint changes (Kellgren-Lawrence grade I, II, or III).
- Body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 30.
- No other joint pain equal to or worse than the knee pain being studied, and no major knee surgery or injections in the past 6 months.
