  • You are 65 to 80 years old
  • You are having planned (not emergency) laparoscopic abdominal surgery with a breathing tube
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30
  • You do not have nosebleeds, nasal injuries, or blockages in your nose
  • You do not have serious heart, kidney, or liver disease, or a history of certain brain conditions
