Who can take part

  • You are 19 years or older.
  • You have sudden hearing loss in one ear (moderate or worse).
  • You will take methylprednisolone 48 mg once daily in the morning.
  • You have type 2 diabetes, or prediabetes (HbA1c 5.7-10.0%), or high blood sugar before starting steroids.
  • If you use insulin now, your total daily dose is 30 units or less.
  • You are willing to stay in the hospital for 2 nights and can use a smartphone and wearable devices.
