Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have been diagnosed with lower-risk MDS
- Your platelet count is 30 or lower, or under 50 with bleeding symptoms
- Your liver and kidney function are within normal limits (less than twice the upper limit)
- You are physically active (able to care for yourself, up and about more than half of waking hours)
- You have not had leukemia, a stem cell transplant, or certain other cancers in the past 5 years
- You have not taken cyclosporine or ATG in the last 6 months, and have never taken rhTPO, IL-11, or TPO-RA
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and have not been in another trial in the last 3 months
