Who can take part

  • Adults with obesity (BMI of 30 or more) or overweight (BMI of 27 or more) plus at least one weight-related health issue like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or sleep apnea.
  • You must not have any type of diabetes.
  • Your weight has been steady — not a gain or loss of more than 11 pounds in the past 3 months.
  • You have not had and do not plan to have weight-loss surgery or other procedures like a stomach balloon.
  • Your obesity is not due to another medical condition like a hormone problem, and you must not have kidney problems or chronic malabsorption (trouble absorbing nutrients).
