Dry Needling for Quad Strength After ACL Surgery

This study tests whether a non-needle technique called dry needling can help improve quadriceps strength in teenagers who recently had ACL reconstruction surgery. If you are 10-20 years old, had your surgery within the last 6 weeks, and meet a few other requirements, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 10 and 20 years old.
  • You had ACL surgery using a graft from your own quadriceps tendon, and it was 6 weeks ago or less.
  • You speak English or Spanish.
  • You have not had any prior surgery on the same knee or hip.
  • You did not have any other surgeries on the ligaments or cartilage during your ACL reconstruction.
  • You have not had complications like an infection after surgery, and you are not pregnant.
