Who can take part

  • You had a stroke that affected one side of your brain, at least 6 months ago
  • Your walking speed is slower than about 0.6 meters per second (a slow, shuffling pace)
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You have a doctor's clearance or have passed a stress test for a 12-week exercise program
  • You do not have a pacemaker or other metal implant that prevents an MRI
  • You do not have another neurological condition (like Parkinson's) affecting your legs
