Who can take part

  • You are a U.S. military veteran
  • You had a stroke that affected your walking, and it's been at least 6 months since the stroke
  • Your walking speed is slower than 0.6 meters per second (about 2 feet per second) on a 10-meter walk test
  • You do not have a pacemaker or severe claustrophobia (fear of tight spaces)
  • You do not have other conditions like Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis that affect your leg movement
  • You do not have any medical condition that would make it unsafe to exercise

High-Intensity Exercise for Stroke Recovery
