Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You have heart failure with a weak pump (ejection fraction 50% or less), a wide electrical pattern on EKG (QRS of 130 ms or more), and you are not in a fast, uncontrolled irregular rhythm.
  • You have moderate to severe heart failure symptoms (NYHA class II-IV).
  • Your heart veins can accept a standard pacing wire placed through the coronary sinus.
  • You do not need a defibrillator (ICD) and you are not scheduled for major heart surgery during the trial.
  • Your overall health allows you to live at least a year and you can follow the study schedule.
