- You are 18 years or older
- You have a recent brain bleed (confirmed by CT or MRI) that is in the upper part of the brain and not from an injury, tumor, or abnormal blood vessel
- The bleed is small (less than 30 mL) and you did not have surgery to remove it
- You were diagnosed within the last 24 hours
- You do not have a severe infection, immune disease, blood disorder, or advanced heart, liver, or kidney failure
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
