Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older
- You must have severe or very severe COPD (GOLD stage 3 or 4)
- You must have documented lung hyperinflation (higher trapped air than normal)
- You must be stable (no flare-ups in the last 3 weeks)
- You cannot have recent lung collapse, active bleeding in the lungs, unstable heart problems, or serious muscle weakness
- You must be able to give written consent
