Who can take part

  • You are 75 years old or younger.
  • You have stable COPD and take 10mg or less of prednisolone daily.
  • You have not smoked for at least 3 months and agree not to smoke during the study.
  • You had endobronchial lung volume reduction (valve treatment) within the last 18 months and it did not help your breathing.
  • A recent CT scan shows your target lung lobe still has some air in it after the valve treatment.
  • You are healthy enough for keyhole surgery (thoracoscopy) under general anesthesia.
