Who can take part

  • You have advanced gum disease (Stage III or IV periodontitis).
  • You have at least one deep gum pocket (6 mm or deeper) with a visible bone defect on X-ray.
  • Your oral hygiene must be very good (less than 15% plaque and bleeding on probing).
  • You cannot smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day.
  • You must not have uncontrolled diabetes, serious health problems, or be pregnant or breastfeeding.
