Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have had symptoms of a pulmonary embolism for 14 days or less.
  • A CT scan shows a clot in one of the main lung arteries and your heart's right side is enlarged.
  • Your blood pressure is stable (systolic at least 90 mmHg) and your heart rate is under 130 beats per minute.
  • You haven't used clot-busting drugs in the last 30 days.
  • You don't have severe lung disease, recent stroke, or a bleeding disorder.
