Collagenase injection for managing contractures

This trial tests whether a collagenase injection can help loosen tight tendons (contractures) caused by a stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord injury. If you have had a contracture for at least 6 months and are otherwise stable, this treatment might improve your range of motion.

Who can take part

  • You had a stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord injury at least 6 months ago and your condition is stable
  • You have a tight tendon (contracture) diagnosed by a doctor
  • You are not allergic to collagenase (XIAFLEX)
  • You have not had botox in the area for at least 4 months, or phenol injections for at least 9 months
  • You are not currently taking blood thinners (other than low-dose aspirin) and do not have a bleeding disorder
  • You do not have a connective tissue disorder like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
