Motor imagery and turning practice to improve mobility in older adults

This trial tests whether practicing motor imagery (mentally rehearsing movements) along with turning exercises can help older adults with balance or walking difficulties improve their mobility and reduce fall risk. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups and complete the study procedures at Boise State University.

Who can take part

  • Age 65 years or older.
  • You have trouble with turning, balance, or walking tasks.
  • You have had a fall or fear of falling due to balance or walking concerns.
  • You are able to imagine movements (assessed by a short questionnaire).
  • You can travel to the research site and have internet access to watch videos.
  • You do not have a neurological condition like Parkinson's, MS, or stroke.
