Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have advanced nasopharyngeal cancer (stage III or IVA, but not certain subtypes).
  • You are in good physical condition (able to care for yourself and up and about more than half of your waking hours).
  • Your blood counts, liver, kidney, and clotting function are within acceptable ranges.
  • You do not have another active cancer, serious heart or lung disease, active hepatitis, tuberculosis, or a weak immune system.
  • You have not had prior chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery for your nasopharyngeal or neck cancer (except a biopsy).
