This trial tests if the drug vericiguat can slow down the buildup of calcium in the aortic valve, which causes it to narrow and stiffen. If you have mild-to-moderate aortic valve stenosis and meet the other criteria, this study may help protect your valve from getting worse.

Who can take part

  • You are between 35 and 79 years old.
  • Your aortic valve stenosis is mild to moderate on an echocardiogram.
  • A CT scan shows a certain amount of calcium buildup in your valve.
  • You are not taking any medications like sildenafil or nitrates.
  • You are not planning to have valve surgery or replacement soon.
  • Your heart pumps blood well (LVEF 50% or higher) and you are not in advanced heart failure.
