Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have a severe brain injury (from trauma, lack of oxygen, stroke, or other causes) that left you unconscious for at least 24 hours.
  • Your level of cognitive functioning is at least 5 out of 10 (meaning you can follow commands and respond to people).
  • You have trouble with at least one thinking skill, like memory or attention, shown on a standard test.
  • You have lived for a long time in the Irpinia area of Italy (including Partenio, Valle Ufita-Baronia, Serinese-Solofrana, Alta Irpinia, Vallo di Lauro-Baianese, or Terminio-Cervialto).
  • You (or your legal representative) can sign a consent form.
