  • You must be 40 years of age or older
  • You must have a confirmed COPD flare-up that requires you to stay in the hospital
  • You must be awake, alert, and able to talk and communicate clearly
  • You must be willing to take part and sign a consent form
  • You cannot have serious confusion, a stroke history, pneumonia, or active cancer
