Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years of age or older.
  • You must have moderate to severe ARDS, which is a severe lung injury causing low oxygen levels.
  • You must not have a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in your neck) already in place.
  • You must not have had a lung transplant or be using ECMO as a bridge to a transplant.
  • You must not have cardiogenic shock that requires special ECMO setups (VA or VAV).
