Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have a traumatic spinal cord injury in the neck or upper back (between the C2 and T12 bones).
- Your injury is graded A, B, or C on the ASIA Impairment Scale (a system to measure how much function you have lost).
- You can have surgery within 72 hours after the injury.
- An MRI shows there is no fluid visible between your spinal cord and the protective covering (the dura) in at least one section of your spine.
- You are generally healthy enough to survive at least 12 months and are willing to follow all study procedures.
