Who can take part

  • You are between 14 and 50 years old.
  • You have severe aplastic anemia (a condition where your bone marrow doesn't make enough blood cells) and are planning your first stem cell transplant from a half-matched donor.
  • Your overall health is good enough for transplant (no major organ damage or uncontrolled infections).
  • You are not allergic to N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and have no history of asthma.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You agree to sign a consent form and follow the study schedule.
