Who can take part

  • You have severe aplastic anemia, meaning your bone marrow makes very few blood cells and you have low counts of white cells, platelets, or red blood cells.
  • You have a related donor (like a sibling or parent) who can give stem cells, at least a half-match.
  • You are not able or choose not to have a standard stem cell transplant.
  • Your kidneys, liver, heart, and lungs are working well enough (doctors will check these with tests).
  • You are well enough to carry out daily activities (ECOG score 0 or 1).
  • You agree to use birth control if you or your partner can become pregnant, for 6 months after the treatment.
