Left atrial appendage closure during open-heart surgery

This trial tests if closing the left atrial appendage with a special stitch during planned heart surgery can help prevent strokes in people with atrial fibrillation. If you already need heart surgery, this extra step may reduce your future stroke risk.

This study tests whether closing a heart pocket called the left atrial appendage can lower future stroke or other clot-related events in people with atrial fibrillation. It’s mainly for people who have had a prior clot-related event or are at higher risk but may not be good candidates for long-term blood thinners.

This trial tests whether closing the left atrial appendage (a small sac in the heart) during open-heart surgery can help prevent stroke later on. If you are already scheduled for open-heart surgery, joining this study may add a simple step that could lower your stroke risk.

This study tracks patients who have a minimally invasive procedure to close off a small pouch in the heart called the left atrial appendage. The procedure aims to reduce stroke risk, and this registry collects information about how patients do after the procedure.
