Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You had a stroke caused by a blockage in the front part of the brain's blood supply (anterior circulation).
- You are scheduled to have or have had a mechanical thrombectomy (a procedure to remove the clot).
- You are able to give written consent, or a legally authorized representative can do so.
- You do not have an active infection, cancer, or an autoimmune/inflammatory disease that requires systemic immune-suppressing treatment.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding (if required by local ethics committee).
