Ultrasound-guided pulsed field ablation for atrial fibrillation
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial tests whether using only ultrasound to guide a heart procedure called pulsed field ablation is as safe and effective as using X-ray. The procedure uses short energy pulses to fix irregular heartbeats in people with atrial fibrillation.

Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, meaning your irregular heartbeat comes and goes and does not last for weeks at a time.
- You are scheduled to have a pulsed field ablation procedure for your atrial fibrillation.
- You have not had a previous ablation or heart surgery for atrial fibrillation.
- You do not have certain other heart rhythm problems that need separate treatment (like atrial flutter or Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome).
- You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the trial.
- You are not currently in another clinical trial for drugs or medical devices.

This study tests a new way to treat paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) using pulsed field energy. The goal is to block abnormal electrical signals from the pulmonary veins and superior vena cava, which may help prevent AF episodes from coming back.
This trial tests a newer ablation procedure (PulseSelect) to treat atrial fibrillation—a common heart rhythm problem. The goal is to see if this optimized workflow helps patients have fewer symptoms and better outcomes.
This study tests a new type of ablation called pulsed field ablation to treat paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF that comes and goes). It aims to see if this approach is safe and effective at isolating the veins that trigger AF, and it may help people who still have symptoms despite medication and are having their first ablation.
This trial tests a new method called pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of irregular heartbeat. It aims to safely stop AF episodes by targeting specific areas in the heart, and may help people with paroxysmal (coming and going) or persistent AF who haven't had this procedure before.
This study tests a new 3D-guided technique using pulsed field energy to treat paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heartbeat that comes and goes. It may help patients who have not had a prior ablation and have a heart strong enough for the procedure.
This trial tests a newer ablation technique called pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation, a heart rhythm disorder. The goal is to see if this method works well and is safe for patients who need treatment.
