Pulsed field ablation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial tests a newer treatment called pulsed field ablation (PFA) for people with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF), where the heart's rhythm is irregular and comes and goes on its own within 7 days. The goal is to see if PFA can restore a normal heart rhythm while better protecting the heart's left atrial function, which helps pump blood effectively. If you have AF and medications haven't worked, this could be an option to discuss with your doctor.

Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have been diagnosed with paroxysmal AF, meaning episodes of irregular heartbeat that last less than 7 days and stop on their own.
- You have tried at least one antiarrhythmic medication (like propafenone, sotalol, or amiodarone) but it didn't control your symptoms.
- You are willing to stop taking these medications for a period before the procedure (at least 5 half-lives).
- You are willing to receive the PFA treatment and attend follow-up visits, and can sign a consent form.

This trial tests a newer ablation technique called pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation, a heart rhythm disorder. The goal is to see if this method works well and is safe for patients who need treatment.
This study tests a newer, gentler way to fix irregular heartbeats in people with paroxysmal AF. The treatment uses special energy (pulsed fields) guided by 3D imaging to target the heart tissue causing the problem, and the goal is to restore a normal rhythm with fewer risks.
This study tests a new type of energy called pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat. It aims to see if it is safe and effective for people whose symptoms have not improved with medication.
This study tests a special catheter that uses pulsed field energy to ablate (destroy) the tiny areas in the heart causing irregular heartbeats. It is designed for people with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (episodes that come and go) that hasn't been controlled by medication.
This trial tests a new method called pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of irregular heartbeat. It aims to safely stop AF episodes by targeting specific areas in the heart, and may help people with paroxysmal (coming and going) or persistent AF who haven't had this procedure before.
This trial studies a new type of energy, called pulsed field ablation, to treat a heart rhythm problem called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). The goal is to safely isolate the areas of the heart causing the irregular beats, which may help reduce symptoms.
