Testing indapamide to slow disability in progressive MS

This trial tests whether a daily pill called indapamide, usually used for blood pressure, can help slow down the worsening of symptoms in people with progressive multiple sclerosis. It might help by protecting the nerves, and you would take it for about a year while being monitored.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You must have a diagnosis of primary or secondary progressive MS.
  • Your disability level must be moderate, based on a scale from 0 to 10, between 4.0 and 6.5.
  • You need to be able to walk (with or without an aid) and take at least 5 to 9 seconds to walk 25 feet, depending on your MS type.
  • You must be willing to use effective contraception if you can become pregnant.
  • You must not have kidney, liver, or heart problems, low blood pressure, or be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You must not be taking certain MS medications like ocrelizumab or natalizumab, or have had a recent MRI showing new disease activity.
